Software updates
Some mostly minor updates
- nVidia Forceware 71.89 - Windows video drivers for all nVidia cards since about 1998.
- OpenOffice 1.9 build 93 - I think 2.0 was scheduled for Q4 of 2004... not sure when it's expected now.
- Paint .NET 2.1 beta 3 - Just when 2.1 final was due, it's been pushed back a couple weeks and a beta has been pushed in its place.
- GIMP 2.2.6 - A bugfix release.

So do you personally prefer ACDSee or GIMP? Have you used Photoshop Elements? I'll have a copy of that soon...
er, that was me.

I personally prefer ACDSee for viewing, organizing, resizing, converting, batch jobs, etc. It's pretty easy to use and has some very nice features.
GIMP is what I use in place of PhotoShop, mainly due to price, for any more involved editing operations. GIMP has most of the powerful editing features of PhotoShop, but also matches it in difficulty of use :( Recently, I've used GIMP to convert XBM files (unix screen dumps) because ACDSee couldn't read 'em... It was tedious having to load 10 images one at a time and save them as PNG, but it was a one-time task. I don't expect to have that problem come up again.
Paint.NET seems to be trying to replace the Paint Brush program that comes with windows. It's actually a decent program and still very easy to use. It's also free.
Nope, I've never used Photoshop Elements. Let me know what you think of it.
